Aviation Task Force

    Securing Net Zero Flight

The aviation industry has come together to form the Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Aviation Task Force (ATF), coalescing activities to secure aviation’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050. This Task Force supports the broader focus areas of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, Nature, People and Planet as well as its Terra Carta Mandate.

Aviation underpins the global economy: Facilitating international trade, encouraging investment and bringing people together. Crucially, in a world worth flying, aviation’s future has to be carbon free. Flying without fossil fuels is possible, however action is required to take solutions like Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from a proven concept to commercially viable.

During COP27, the ATF unveiled a SAF pocket guide , designed to encourage uptake amongst the business community. The Sustainable Markets Initiative's network of business leaders have the influence to make SAF flight an everyday reality, reaching the ATF’s ’30 by 30’ target – The business community committing to 30% SAF usage in corporate travel by 2030.
