UK Fusion Forum: Building the Case for Commercial Fusion at Scale

At the UK Fusion Forum, the UK Infinity Fusion Consortium set out how public-private collaboration can put Britain at the forefront of commercial fusion power.

The move towards commercializing fusion is accelerating, and the UK has an opportunity to position itself at the forefront.

At the UK Fusion Forum, hosted by the Fusion Industry Association, the discussion focused on what it will take to make the UK one of the most attractive places to develop and deliver commercial fusion.

Within the next five years, the goal is to break ground on the UK’s first private sector-led commercial fusion power plant.

The UK Infinity Fusion Consortium, bringing together Type One Energy, Tokamak Energy, AECOM and Barclays, is the systems-thinking response to that challenge.

Fusion holds the promise of abundant, secure, low-carbon power.

Turning that promise into reality demands the kind of cross-sector collaboration the SMI exists to convene: public and private, science and finance, ambition and delivery.

This is the Growth Story of Our Time.
